This publication contains detailed abstracts of all the documents that were recorded in Lunenburg County Deed Book No. 13, which covers instruments recorded between the years 1777 - 1784. This is a large deed book, with lots of data, and it is exceptionally difficult to read because of a) many faded pages (some, especially in the first 50 pages, are so badly faded that the first impression is of blank pages) and b) microscopic handwriting. To try to compensate for these problems, data in extremely faded parts of the deed book were supplemented by data from the Lunenburg County General Index to Grantees A-Z, a manuscript of unknown date, but of early enough vintage so that faded pages seem not to have been a problem for that indexer. Items from the grantee index are enclosed between angled brackets: <>. Another potential problem is that there are gaps in the recording dates (example, no deeds were recorded between April and Aug., 1781), suggesting that some deeds may have been lost early.
